SNB Law is glad to support the German Business Association GBA this year as a Corporate Gold Partner. On the photo, we see our partner Dr. Jörg-Michael Scheil at the Annual General Meeting of the GBA in the Deutsches Haus, Ho Chi Minh City on January 16, 2023.
SNB Law will speak on IP risks for manufacturers in Vietnam (in comparison to China) on leading German IP conference
On the upcoming "Patente 2023" Conference in Munich on January 31 and February 1, 2023 organized by Management Circle , SNB Law partner Dr. Jörg-Michael Scheil will hold a workshop on the latest developments of the legal framework for IP protection in Vietnam, and have a comparative glance at China in terms of the IP risks for manufacturers. The presentation will mainly cover the following issues:
The Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Vietnam provides for a supplemental drug patent protection. Meanwhile, Vietnam has implemented this provision in the new IP law. However, the implementation mechanism is unlikely to satisfy foreign drug manufacturers.
An article by our partner Dr. Jörg-Michael Scheil on the topic: "Legal framework for imported cosmetic products in Vietnam" will soon be published in issue 4/2022 of the Zeitschrift für Stoffrecht (ZStoffR).
Our partner Dr. Jörg-Michael Scheil has published an article on the topic of "The protection of geographical indications for EU food products in Vietnam“ in edition 5/2022 of the Zeitschrift für das gesamte Lebensmittelrecht (Journal of German food law).
SNB has been active in the German-Nordic Lawyers Association (DNJV) for many years and is increasingly involved in legal relations with Nordic and Baltic countries. We are therefore particularly pleased that our colleague Johannes Thies has now been elected as the new managing director of the DNJV.
Thanks to the German-Finnish Chamber of Industry & Commerce for organizing a once more excellent conference in Hamburg touching some of the most pressing topics of these days (twin transition). We were glad sharing insights with experts, entrepreneurs and professionals from both Finland and Germany on the issues of digitalization and sustainability.
